More about Mike

I'm a dad and I cook stuff.  Look, it's not the Big Sell here, it's just what it is.

My three boys have grown and gone but can still sniff a meal away from quite some distance. And my wife doesn't cook.  At all. Well, at a push if there's no plan A. There has to be a bit of a crisis looming to get her and pans in synch.

So I just cook stuff - I try to cook the evening meal every night, vary things a bit so we don't get bored and we throw the absolute bare minimum food away. You can usually dream up something that's tasty, quick and welcoming from just a few bits and leftovers.

The amount of perfectly good food thrown away is just ridiculous thanks in part to bonkers supermarkets who persuade us to buy one get seven free and put hopeless use-by dates on packaging.

And yes, you can cook something from that one tomato, the sausage (singular) that tin of whatever it is and some pasta.

We don't have to be cheffy, we just have to enjoy putting a plate of food in front of our family that we can afford and they want to eat.

Not difficult, is it..?
